Kala is a African Lion (Panthera leo). Her shoulder height is about 110 cm, she weighs roughly around 126 kg, and from head to all the way to her tail she measures about 2.7 m. Kala has a light tawny pelt while her underfur is paler in contrast, she has brown face markings and brown colored ears. Her eyes are a slit light blue. Her body is sleek and strong, fitting the physique of a practiced hunter. She also proves herself to be exceptionally strong, able to hold her own in combat with both male and female lions.

Kala is a supportive follower to her pride. Not only is Kala gentle and soft-spoken, but she also a doting lioness who is not afraid to tease. Through many childish complaints from her fellow leaders and lionesses, she keeps a smile on her face, proving herself willing to embarrass them if she believes that she is serving their best interest. Despite her joking nature, Kala is wise enough to keep her pride safe, willing to put herself in harms to protect the ones she loves.
